How to use run-app to just run a function in grails?
I have an app that uses a scheduled plugin (which, I have found on their git site) to run some commands on my server. This way, I don't have to manually start it, it just runs every morning. The problem is, the plugin uses run-app to run commands. This is what they say to do:
Now, just copy and paste this into the command line.
To run the script, just run grails run-app.
When I do this, I get:
Unable to start server.
Please fix the above errors and restart grails services by executing
grails restart
This is most certainly not what I'm looking for. I am hoping there is a way to just tell it to run a specific function/method and not the whole app. Thanks!

I think the run-app command expects that you are launching the server inside of the IDE.
A couple of things you could try are:
Create an initializer in your app/init folder with a Class in it that defines a method that does the plugin's script (maybe a GrailsCommand). You can pass in arguments to this method that point to the script you want run, e.g. grails run-app -appArgs="--someParam=someValue".
This wouldn't work in your specific case, but it might be a nice side effect if you want to script your deployments as well. I.e. with this, you would create your ac619d1d87
